Turn on Darkfari
- Open Darkfari. Setup opens by itself the first time; later, choose Help ▸ Set Up Darkfari.
- Click Open Safari Settings and switch on Darkfari in the Extensions list.
- Click Always Allow on Every Website and confirm. Darkfari needs this to restyle pages; it doesn't record or send what you browse.
- Setup ticks each step off by itself. Open any light website: on Auto, it turns dark while your Mac is in Dark Mode. Choose On on Home to darken all the time.
Something isn't right
| A site looks wrong | Click the moon in Safari's toolbar. Switch the site off, give it another theme, or choose More ▸ Colors: Strict. |
| One part of a page looks wrong | In the panel, choose More ▸ Fix an Element… and click it. Keep its own colors, or hide it. |
| A site with its own dark mode isn't darkened | That's on purpose. To use your theme there anyway, switch on Darken Anyway in the panel, or for all such sites in Settings ▸ General. |
| Photos are too bright or too dark | Change Images in the panel, or the image brightness of your theme on Themes. |
| The panel says “needs access” | Reload the page, or allow Darkfari on every website in Safari ▸ Settings ▸ Extensions. |
| Shortcuts don't work | Check Settings ▸ Shortcuts in Darkfari. Shortcuts work in Safari tabs where Darkfari is allowed. |
| Web apps in the Dock | Open the web app, choose its name ▸ Settings ▸ Extensions, and switch on Darkfari. |
Requirements
A Mac with macOS 26 or later, and Safari.
